Beanies, what are they? Why are they so popular?
Hmmm.. if you’re thinking what are beanies and what made them so popular, you’re not the only one.
Believe it or not, people do ask why we wear beanies in the first place. Well, it originated back in the 1900’s, and the trend eventually came back again. I don’t know if you have watched the trend, but the fashion keeps repeating. We had polka dots, the left, came back, and were gone again…. same with baggy jeans.. but it looks like beanies are here to stay, and for several reasons.
- They are versatile:
You can literally put them on and look casual. Get that sloppy look or choose to look classy and formal in it. It just depends how you put it on and what you put them on with.
- They keep you warm:
You can cuff it uncuff it, however you like it... The best beanies to keep you warm are always 100% cashmere beanies. They not only save you hair cuticles from damaging but also create less static, which means less chance of having hat hair. Don’t you like the sound of that?
- They are viral in the fashion industry:
Back in 2011, Rihanna was spotted putting on a neon yellow beanie. Obviously, I don’t know if you’re a Ri fan or not... but she certainly can influence a huge crowd… Soon after she was spotted with that hat, the fashion industry picked it up real quick. Since then, different companies have been coming up with different beanie styles.
- Sun protection:
Now….if you didn’t know this, some people put on beanies for sun protection…especially if they have thinning hair!!! If you’re one of them, I highly recommend getting 100% cashmere beanies... Also great if you’re looking to stay warm and cozy too!!
While there are many more ways you can style a beanie, always go with the one you’re comfortable with. In the end, more than following just the trend, you need to feel good and look ultra-chic. Who knows, you might be the one setting the trend, and I might be mentioning you on my blog posts some day!!
